Sri Lanka, Dec. 27 -- Former Sri Lankan fast bowler Dhammika Prasad has been appointed as the bowling coach of the United States cricket team ahead of the upcoming ICC Twenty20 World Cup. He will also serve as the assistant coach of the side.

The US cricket team is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on January 10 to begin preparations for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka has been selected as the team's training base as part of their build-up to the global tournament.

The United States will open their World Cup campaign against India on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
