Sri Lanka, Aug. 22 -- Sri Lanka Rugby has appointed experienced coach Asela Deshapriya as the new Head Coach of the Sri Lanka Women's Sevens Team. The 40-year-old will guide the national side at the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series 2025, with Round 1 to be played on September 20-21 in China and Round 2 on October 18-19 in Sri Lanka.
Deshapriya, a proud product of CWW Kannangara College, Borella, has steadily built his reputation as one of the most respected coaches in the country. He has been the Head Coach of DS Senanayake College Colombo for the past six years, and this season guided them to the Plate Championship in the Dialog Schools League Rugby Tournament.
