Sri Lanka, May 28 -- The Ministry of Defence is giving serious attention to the release of civilian lands currently under military control, Deputy Minister of Defence Major General K. P. Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) said during a discussion on land release held at the Northern Province Governor's Secretariat on Tuesday (26)

The meeting followed field inspections conducted in Mannar, Kilinochchi and Jaffna districts by a delegation comprising the Deputy Minister of Defence, the Commander of the Army and the Commander of the Navy, as part of a two-day official visit to the Northern Province.
