Sri Lanka, June 25 -- Sri Lanka Customs' Narcotics Control Unit's (NCU) officers intercepted an 18-year-old Canadian female passenger at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on Tuesday night (23).

The suspect had arrived in Sri Lanka from Toronto, Canada, via Dubai on an Emirates flight at nearly 10.40 p.m..

During an examination of her two checked-in luggage bags, Customs officers discovered 35,265 grammes (35.265 kilogrammes) of Hashish concealed inside the baggage. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is nearly Rs. 352.65 million.
