Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court yesterday ordered the CID to expedite the probe against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe filed under the Public Property Act. The case will be taken up again on January 28, 2026.

The former President appeared before the court in connection with the case. Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to expedite its investigation into the matter and to produce any suspects involved before Court. The Court further instructed the CID to investigate whether any acts of Contempt of Court had taken place during incidents related to the Court proceedings during the previous hearing.
