Court dismisses petition seeking two-month delay of 2026 A/L Examination
Sri Lanka, July 23 -- The Court of Appeal today (23) dismissed a petition filed by nine students seeking to postpone the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination by two months.
The petition was dismissed without granting leave to proceed with the case by a bench comprising Court of Appeal President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya and Justice Priyantha Fernando.
The students had requested the postponement, claiming that disruptions caused by public holidays declared during the fuel crisis and the impact of Cyclone Ditwah had affected the completion of the required number of school days.
