Sri Lanka, Aug. 7 -- Sri Lanka recorded total revenue of Rs. 2,322 billion in the first six months of 2025, reflecting a notable improvement from Rs. 1,861 billion during the same period in 2024, according to the mid-year fiscal review released by the Ministry of Finance.

The increase was driven by both tax and non-tax revenue. Tax collections rose to Rs. 2,152 billion, up from Rs. 1,709 billion in the corresponding period last year. Non-tax revenue also climbed to Rs. 170 billion from Rs. 151 billion. The data indicates improved fiscal performance, with the government on track to meet its annual revenue targets for 2025.
