Counsel in Saudi Arabia for discussions to pardon Anojan
Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath informed Parliament that prison officials have assured embassy staff that all measures have been taken to ensure the safety and security of Sivarasa Anojan who is currently detained in Dammam Prison after being sentenced to death, and that he has since been transferred to a different prison cell.
He also explained that a verbal altercation between Sivarasa Anojan and another inmate escalated into a physical clash, resulting in scratch marks on Anojan's face caused by the other inmate's fingernails.
