Sri Lanka, Aug. 5 -- A heated verbal exchange took place in Parliament yesterday (4), regarding the proposal to increase the monthly salary of the Auditor General, between Public Finance Committee (COPF) Chairman of the Dr. Harsha de Silva and the Leader of the House Minister Bimal Rathnayake.

COPF Chairman Harsha de Silva informed the House that the committee will be taking up the Government's proposal regarding the increase of the salary of the Auditor General today and that the Parliament could take it up within the course of this week.
