SriLanka, Oct. 20 -- Former President Maithripala Sirisena has issued a statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the re-imprisonment of Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera. He stated that the recent court ruling ordering the monk's re-imprisonment noted that facts forcing the court to release him were recorded, but a technical error had occurred in the documents submitted to the court by the Presidential Secretariat.

"The court's decision is correct, and I respect that ruling," the former President said in a statement.
