Sri Lanka, Oct. 15 -- The Marawila Headquarters Police have succeeded in seizing a consignment of foreign cigarettes and beedi leaves that were being unloaded at the Mudukatuwa beach in Marawila.
The raid had been carried out last Thursday (09). When the police raided the place, the suspects had fled in four boats that had been there.
It is currently estimated that the value of the seized cigarettes and beedi leaves is around Rs.30 million. There had been 90,000 cigarettes manufactured in a foreign country and 1,324 kilos of beedi leaves.
