Sri Lanka, July 28 -- A progress review meeting for the formulation of a comprehensive National Mechanism for Drowning Prevention and Lifesaving was convened at the Parliament complex on Friday (24). The meeting focused on strengthening inter agency collaboration to establish a co-ordinated national framework aimed at reducing water related fatalities and enhancing public safety countrywide.
The progress review meeting was co-chaired by Defence Deputy Minister Major Gen. (Retd) Aruna Jayasekara, Education and Higher Education Deputy Minister Dr. Madhura Senevirathna and Youth Affairs Deputy Minister Dinindu Saman Hennayake.
