Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- The Sectoral Oversight Committee (SOC) on Governance, Justice and Civil Protection held extensive discussions on formulating a systematic programme to reduce prison overcrowding and inmate density in Sri Lanka. The discussion took place when the Committee met recently in Parliament under the chairmanship of MP Dr. Najith Indika.

The Committee deliberated on the key measures currently being implemented by the Government to address prison overcrowding and inmate density.
