Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- The Sri Lanka Coast Guard rescued eleven local and foreign tourists from drowning during lifesaving operations conducted across various coastal regions of the country in August.Send Money Overseas

During lifesaving operations the Coast Guard lifesavers rescued four foreign nationals and seven local tourists from drowning. The rescued individuals comprised of nationals from England, Denmark and Bangladesh, aged between 17 and 49 years.

Since its establishment in 2010, the Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued 2,688 lives, including 1,251 foreign nationals as of August 31.
