Clarify tax neutrality for digital service providers - COPF Chairman
Sri Lanka, June 24 -- Committee on Public Finance (COPF) Chairman MP Dr. Harsha de Silva urged the Government to clarify tax neutrality between resident and non resident digital service providers before proceeding on the debate on the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill.
Addressing the House yesterday (23) morning before the second reading of the VAT (Amendment) Bill which seeks to widen the tax net and strengthen compliance, the MP said he would like the Government to make a clarification because the COPF committee did not get a clarification from the Government stressing that the issue must be addressed before commencing with the Second Reading of the Bill.
