Sri Lanka, July 29 -- China has agreed to provide the necessary technical and research support to establish a bamboo 'bio-fence' as a sustainable, eco-friendly solution to Sri Lanka's long-standing human-elephant conflict.

This proposal was discussed during an official study tour undertaken by a Sri Lankan delegation led by Environment Deputy Minister Anton Jayakody, to the International Center for Bamboo and Rattan (ICBR) in Beijing, China.
