Sri Lanka, July 3 -- The 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was marked at an event at the Cinnamon Life Hotel in Colombo on Wednesday (1).

Hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, Members of Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, and representatives of Sri Lanka's major political parties and members of the diplomatic corps were present and participated in the event.

In his opening address, China's Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong, reflected on the origins of the CPC and highlighted the People's Republic of China's remarkable technological and economic transformation over the past century.
