Sri Lanka, April 29 -- Excavation activities at the Chemmani mass grave site in Jaffna resumed on Monday (27), marking the commencement of the third phase after a delay of over six months. The process had been paused due to last year's North-East monsoon, with work now restarting under renewed arrangements at the site.
Preliminary activities on the opening day focused on clearing and preparing the area for excavation, with digging operations expected to proceed in the coming days. The resumption of work has once again drawn attention to the long-standing significance of the Chemmani site in ongoing efforts related to investigation and accountability.
