Srilanka, Nov. 5 -- Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath yesterday said that the Catholic Church in Sri Lanka plays a crucial role in nation-building, fostering social cohesion, providing social services, and engaging in charitable work for the impoverished and marginalised individuals in the country.
He said the Catholic community, characterised by its multi-ethnic composition, is instrumental in promoting reconciliation, which is highly regarded across all communities.
