Sri Lanka, Aug. 9 -- Colombo Archbishop, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith underscored the importance of providing skills-based knowledge to schoolchildren, during a discussion with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya on the educational reforms scheduled to be implemented from next year. The Archbishop said that as everyone is increasingly pursuing white-collar jobs, there will be a shortage of technically skilled workers within the country to perform certain types of jobs.
He added that this situation will compel the country to bring skilled labourers from foreign countries.
