Sri Lanka, March 4 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has officially approved a strategic project to fortify the Ambatale Water Supply Scheme against the escalating threats of climate change, securing a major international grant to protect the water security of over two million residents in the Western Province.

The initiative comes as shifting weather patterns-marked by intense flooding and prolonged droughts-increasingly jeopardize the supply of safe drinking water across Sri Lanka.
