Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday (10) decided to approve the signing of the preliminary financial agreements to secure a US$ 100 million financing facility from the World Bank Group's International Development Association (IDA) for an Integrated Regional Development Programme in the Northern and Eastern Provinces, Cabinet spokesman and Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said yesterday.

Addressing the weekly Cabinet press briefing yesterday, he further said that the World Bank Group's IDA is expected to provide Sri Lanka with a total of US$ 1 billion in financing during the 2026-2031 period, of which US$ 100 million has been allocated for the proposed regional development programme.France Business C...
