Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- Katunayake Airport Police Narcotic Bureau Officers arrested a Sri Lankan airline passenger on Tuesday night while he was attempting to smuggle out a stock of 'Ice' (methamphetamine) worth Rs. 80 million through the Katunayake Airport.

The suspect is a 34-year-old businessman residing in the Jayamawatha area of Ratmalana. He had brought the stock of narcotics from Oman to Doha, Qatar, and arrived at the Katunayake Airport at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday (29). The 'Ice' narcotics, weighing 3 kilogrammes and 994 grammes, were packed into 10 parcels and cleverly concealed inside biscuit and chocolate boxes within his luggage.
