Sri Lanka, July 15 -- The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday (13) approved the contract for the infrastructure development and capacity expansion of the departure passenger terminal at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake to Maga Engineering (Pvt) Ltd.

The major expansion project involves the construction of a brand-new terminal building designed to house 36 check-in counters and six passenger boarding gates, executing a procurement process originally greenlit by the Cabinet on February 9, 2025.
