Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- Former State Minister Diana Gamage, on whom an arrest warrant was issued for failing to appear in court, was today released on a surety bail of Rs. 10 million by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama.

The Magistrate noted that the bail was granted as Gamage surrendered to the court following the issuance of the warrant for her immediate arrest.

On August 21, a warrant was issued against Gamage after she failed to appear in court in connection with seven cases filed by the Criminal Investigation Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Division.
