Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 -- Baddegama Pradeshiya Sabha Vice Chairman Saman C. Liyanage has been hospitalised following a "thug" type attack on Friday (24) evening. According to the statement given by the victim Vice Chairman, he had been attacked by a defeated candidate at the previous Local Government election on the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) ticket.
Mr. Liyanage had been attacked in a funeral parlour when he had visited the funeral parlour with his wife to pay his last respects to a deceased friend of his. At the parlour the suspect had barged against the Vice Chairman without cause and attacked him.
