Sri Lanka, Aug. 17 -- Nuwara Eliya District Development Committee Chairman MP Manjula Suraweera Arachchi said steps have been taken to appoint an audit team under the instructions of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to investigate alleged financial irregularities that have occurred in Divisional Secretariats across the Nuwara Eliya District.

The MP said that, following the Aswesuma beneficiary fund fraud at the Norwood and Talawakelle Divisional Secretariats, this audit will be conducted across ten Divisional Secretariats in the Nuwara Eliya District for the period 2023 to 2026.
