Athuraliya PS use saved funds for development initiatives
Sri Lanka, June 24 -- Under the theme 'A Safer Tomorrow Through a Developed Village', the Athuraliya Pradeshiya Sabha has allocated funds to address several basic needs existing within its divisions. Out of the Rs. 20 million saved by the council over the past year, Rs. 12 million has been earmarked for this purpose, with Rs. 1.2 million allocated to each of the 10 divisions.
As the initial phase of the programme, Rs. 200,000 has been allocated to each division for the development of difficult access roads using backhoe machinery hired on a rental basis, Chairman Nuwan Ratnayake told.
