Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- The two suspects who were arrested and remanded in connection with a financial fraud related to the Aswesuma programme at the Norwood Divisional Secretariat office were produced before the Hatton Magistrate's Court yesterday (11), and Hatton District Judge and Magistrate Peter Paul ordered that the two suspects be further remanded until August 25.
Krishnamurthy Lalitha, a resident of Uppcott Stockholm, and Viswanathan Thushadharani, a resident of Dikoya Carpex, were produced before the Hatton Magistrate's Court yesterday, and three lawyers requested the court to take steps to grant bail to these two individuals.
