Sri Lanka, Sept. 23 -- The Colombo Stock Exchange's (CSE's) All Share Price Index (ASPI) reached an all-time high yesterday (22), closing at 21,226.87 points after rising 141.78 points or 0.67 percent from Friday. This surpassed the previous record of 21,085.09 set on September 19. The S&P SL20 also advanced by 60.97 points to 6,057.13.

It has been reported that the rally was driven mainly by financial shares, with top contributors including John Keells Holdings, C. T. Holdings, Senkadagala Finance, Commercial Bank, and Vallibel One. Market turnover stood at over Rs. 8 billion with 276 million shares traded. Regional markets, however, traded mixed.
