Sri Lanka, Oct. 13 -- Sri Lanka is set to send one of its largest and most competitive junior contingents ever, with 100 athletes representing the island nation across 12 sports at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Manama, Bahrain, from October 22 to 31. Pugilist Janidu Dananjaya and long jumper Dilini Nethsala will carry the national flag at the opening ceremony at Bahrain National Stadium.
Suresh Subramaniam, President of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC), expressed high hopes for the young athletes: "Of course, we would be overjoyed to win 100 medals or more, one from each athlete.
