Sri Lanka, Oct. 17 -- Sri Lanka's top junior players Ashlin de Silva and Damsath Peiris stormed into the boys' Under-16 final of the ATF U16 Colombo Week 2 Tennis Tournament (C2), organized by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) and played at the SLTA courts in Colombo yesterday.
Ashlin de Silva, Sri Lanka's number one ranked Under-16 player and the top seed of the tournament, was in commanding form as he swept past Yanik Dodanwala of Australia 6-1, 6-2 in the semi-final.
The national junior star impressed with his accurate first serves, sharp returns, and dominant court positioning. Earlier, Ashlin overcame Dehan Wickramasinghe 7-5, 6-4 in a tight quarter-final that tested his tactical patience and defensive skills.
