Sri Lanka, May 7 -- The Colombo Magistrate's Court today (07) ordered the arrest of former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer Kapila Chandrasena after the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) informed court that the defendant had allegedly violated bail conditions.
The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodharagama following a request made by CIABOC.
Chandrasena had been granted bail earlier this week after being arrested in connection with an alleged bribery deal linked to the purchase of Airbus aircraft for SriLankan Airlines.
He is accused of accepting bribes related to a 2013 aircraft procurement deal involving 10 Airbus planes valued at around US$2.3 billion.
