Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- Around 200 children with cancer die every year in Sri Lanka, according to Dr. Suraj Perera, Consultant Community Physician attached to the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP). Speaking at a media briefing organised by the Health Promotion Bureau yesterday (September 4) to raise awareness on childhood cancer, Dr.Perera stressed that this situation could be reduced if children receive timely medical treatment.
"In 2022, out of all cancer patients identified, 904 were children diagnosed with cancer.
