Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- Veteran journalist and author Deepthi Fonseka, a trailblazer in Sri Lanka's cinema and arts journalism, is set to launch her latest book Silver Screen Anjalin - A Critical Appreciation on 25 September as a Sarasavi publication.

Fonseka, the first female writer of Sarasaviya and the founding editor of Arogya, Sri Lanka's first health promotion newspaper, has long been recognised for her pioneering contributions across diverse fields of journalism. In 2019, she was honoured by the Health Promotion Bureau for her distinguished career.

Her new book documents the life and legacy of celebrated playback singer Anjalin Gunathilaka, who lent her voice to nearly 250 films during the golden era of Sinhala cinema. Featuring a...
