Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 -- Opener Amy Jones hit superb unbeaten knock of 86 in 92 balls as England women finished second in group with a comfortable 8 wickets win over New Zealand in their last group fixture of the womens World Cup played at Visakhapatnam yesterday.
An injury to England key spinner Sophie Ecclestone proved no barrier for Nat Sciver Brunt's English team as they made superb all round performance to beat New Zealand. Opener Amy Jones was leading from the front to chase their target of 169 which came in only 29.2 overs. Tammy Beaumont (40) played a good supporting role to Jones adding 75 runs open wicket stand while Heather Knight (33) further added 83 runs second wicket stand with Jones who was named Player of the Match.
