Srilanka, July 4 -- A new Extraordinary Gazette Notification has been published amending the regulations on the colour coding of sugar levels for liquid foods under Food Act No. 26 of 1980.

This aims to further strengthen the ability of consumers to accurately and easily identify the amount of sugar contained in liquid foods, These regulations have been promulgated by Health and Mass Media Minister, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, taking into account the recommendations of the Food Advisory Committee, and have been published in the Extraordinary Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka No. 2494/06 dated June 23, 2026.
