Sri Lanka, April 10 -- Colombo University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Indika Karunathilake stated that the University has taken steps to ensure that degrees are awarded in a manner that does not hinder the professional future of students, even in the face of various challenging circumstances including natural disasters.

The Vice-Chancellor made this statement while participating in the awarding of Master's degrees in Mass Communication at the University.

It was emphasised that although the official convocation had to be postponed, the University administration ensured that the graduates' employment was not affected, and that everyone's cooperation during difficult times should be appreciated.
