Sri Lanka, May 28 -- The prevailing showery condition over the southwestern parts of Sri Lanka is expected to continue, with the Department of Meteorology forecasting intermittent rain and thundershowers across multiple provinces.

Showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts. Fairly heavy rainfall of around 75 mm is likely in some areas of Galle, Matara, Kalutara and Ratnapura districts.

In the afternoon, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva Province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 1.00 pm.
