Sri Lanka, Feb. 17 -- Airports and Aviation Services (Private) Limited (AASL) has achieved a historic milestone, recording its highest-ever monthly passenger traffic in January 2026.

A total of 1,045,097 passengers were handled across its facilities during the month, marking a new peak for the country's aviation sector.

This achievement officially surpasses the previous all-time record of 1,034,687 passengers, which had stood since January 2018.

The record-breaking figures signal a robust recovery and growth phase for Sri Lanka's tourism and travel industries as the island continues to strengthen its position as a regional aviation hub.Sri Lanka travel
