Sri Lanka, June 23 -- A.T.M. Rafee, a Grade I officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, has been appointed Commissioner of Local Government for the Eastern Province.

The appointment was conferred officially by the Eastern Province Governor Professor Jayantha Lal Ratnasekara.

Prior to this promotion, Rafee had been serving as the Commissioner of the Kalmunai Municipal Council since January 1, 2025.

He has also held key positions in Local Government, including that of Assistant Commissioner of Local Government for the Ampara District and Commissioner of the Akkaraipattu Municipal Council.
