Sri Lanka, May 8 -- Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala told Parliament that 4,742 cases were filed in 2025 regarding cyber crimes against women and that special cyber crime prevention units have been established in all provinces, including the Northern and Eastern provinces, to investigate such cases.
Responding to questions raised by National People's Power (NPP) MP Rajeevan Jeyachandramoorthy in Parliament yesterday (7), the Minister also informed the House that steps have been taken to implement digital safety for women.
