Sri Lanka, June 22 -- Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education Ministry Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa has issued a notice stating that the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will commence on August 10.
The Secretary further noted that although various parties have requested to postpone this examination, there is no requirement whatsoever to do so.
The announcement stated that according to the teacher guides issued by the National Institute of Education, the number of days required to cover the Advanced Level syllabus is 300, and for students sitting for the Advanced Level Examination in 2026, the number of school days from the official commencement of teaching activities until August 07, 2026, is 343 days.
