Srilanka, Oct. 11 -- Plantation Industries Minister Samantha Vidyarathna told Parliament yesterday that 2,056 newly built houses will be provided for upcountry plantation workers.

The ceremony to hand over 2,056 houses will be held in Bandarawela on October 12 under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

He said that several members of Parliament, including MP Mano Ganesan, have been invited to attend the event.

The project was co-funded and supported by the Indian government and implemented through the Ministry of Plantation Industries.
