Srilanka, Oct. 11 -- A group of monks, including Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera, visited former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at his private residence, Carlton House, in Tangalle yesterday (10) to pay their respects.
In a Facebook post, Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the Maha Sangha has always played a vital role in the country's religious, educational, cultural, and social spheres.
"Since the past, the Maha Sangha has been actively involved in our society in religious, educational, cultural and social fields. The Theros have played a leading role in the upliftment of society. I have always received the guidance and blessings of the Maha Sangha in politics and in my personal life," Rajapaksa stated...
