'Tax policies have been formulated keeping SMEs in mind'
Sri Lanka, May 21 -- If a robust, systematic tax collection system is established in the country, it will help the Government to build fiscal resilience. By broadening the tax base and curbing evasion, the state generates revenue to stabilise the economy while funding infrastructure, healthcare, and targeted social welfare programmes for the public, Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe said in Parliament on Tuesday. The Deputy Minister said this while participating in the debate on the second reading of the Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill.
