Sri Lanka, Oct. 17 -- There is a move to promote the tourism industry in Anuradhapura district. Anuradhapura District Secretary Ranjith Wimalasooriya stated that the majority of foreign and local tourists coming to Anuradhapura used to visit the Atamasthana and other places of religious, cultural and historical value situated within the close proximity of eight places of worship. There has been no strategically planned programme to usher the tourists to see the places of scenic beauty surrounding the Anuradhapura sacred city by deviating from the traditional sightseeing routes.
