Sri Lanka, Oct. 22 -- Prof. Priyanga Dunusinghe of the Department of Economics at the University of Colombo stated that the changes currently being implemented at the Electricity Board are a very timely and necessary reform for long-term economic development.
Although the changes being made at the Electricity Board may be unpopular and boring in the short term, he said that such decisions should be taken with the expectation of future economic development.
Prof. Dunusinghe further explained that such decisions should be taken boldly and reforms should be carried out in public sector enterprises with the expectation of future economic development in another ten to fifteen years.
