Nairobi, May 8 -- One of the government's cardinal mandates is to protect public resources and ensure that they are put to good use for the citizens' well-being. The people elect their leaders to do this on their behalf, as it is not possible for all to do it.

The leaders must always prioritise the protection and prudent use of public resources in the spirit of the 2010 Constitution to ensure that national wealth benefits all.

During these difficult economic times, leaders, especially at the national level, must implement comprehensive measures to curb waste and stop the looting of public resources by a few people.
