Nairobi, April 17 -- The success of the new competency-based education (CBE) will largely depend on the commitment and participation of all the stakeholders, especially the school heads. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has, in recognition of this potential, expanded the role of the secondary school principals.
According to the TSC, the shift to the CBE marks a major transition from content-based learning to a model that emphasises skills, hence the need for a new leadership approach. The principals should inspire and support other teachers to embrace the change.
